It’s not too late to register! The International Snowmobile Congress (ISC) 2011 is being hosted by the Alberta Snowmobile Association in Calgary, from June 1 – 4, 2011. Delegates from organized snowmobiling around the world gather once a year to discuss common issues and deliver solutions. Held in downtown Calgary at the Hyatt Regency on historic Stephen Avenue, this year’s event will showcase Alberta and the new west. Join us as we come together to make snowmobiling even better!

NE Chapter Spring Meeting March 3-5

The Northeast Chapter meeting and ride will be held March 3, 4 and 5 in the Chaudière Appalaches region at St-Ferdinand, Quebec, near Thetford Mines.

The hotel of choice is Manoir du lac William, 3180 rue Principale, Saint-Ferdinand. The area offers great riding and the lakeside hotel has many room options. Massachusetts Launches New Website

The Snowmobile Association of Massachusetts (SAM) has launched a new website, www.sledmass.com. The site allows clubs to maintain their own page and post announcements. Members can post events, photos and videos, as well as interact with blog comments, forum and classifieds.

Charles Kurtz of NH inducted into International Snowmobile Hall of Fame

Charles Kurtz of New Hampshire is one of six new members to be inducted into the
International Snowmobile Hall of Fame.

Eagle River, WI. Recognizing and honoring their contributions to the sport of snowmobiling, six new members will be inducted into the International Snowmobile Hall of Fame (ISHOF), now located in
Eagle River, Wisconsin. The induction will take place on September 18, 2010 to culminate a full
weekend of activities for the inductees, their families and friends. All interested snowmobilers are
invited to this gala event.

“We are very pleased to add five new members to this very prestigious program who will now take their rightful and honored place alongside 78 past inductees.” states Scott Eilertson, ISHOF President.

“We have a full weekend of activities for snowmobile fans to enjoy including a golf outing, shopping tours, pontoon boat rides, horseshoe tournament and lots of story telling. Also, the Eagle River Derby Track is hosting their annual “Reunion” with grass drags and an antique/vintage swap meet that same weekend.
It will be an excellent place to enjoy summertime snowmobiling,” states Tom Anderson ISHOF VP and Secretary.

Charles Kurtz – New Hampshire
Charles “Charlie” Kurtz, since entering the sport in 1971, has been front and center in the promotion
and development of the trail system in New Hampshire. Starting at the local club level, Charlie soon moved on to assume many offices at the county association level and then onto the state and national levels. He served as President of the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association and Chairman of the Northeast Chapter of the American Council of Snowmobile Associations. Charlie enters ISHOF as “Volunteer”.

International Snowmobile Congress
Coralville, Iowa will be the place to be June 10-12 for the 42nd gathering of the International Snowmobile Congress. Leaders from all of the State Snowmobile Associations, Canadian Provinces, Sweden and Russia will discuss the opportunities and challenges that face snowmobiling.

A new painting for the NEC fundraiser has been completed for the ISC 2010 auction in Iowa. Anyone who wants a reproduction print should contact the Chapter via the “Contact Us” section of the website. The 16×20 prints are $75 plus shipping.
